Although Disneyland is closed until the end of April, Downtown Disney is open! Downtown Disney is a shopping center near Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Amusement Parks. Guests would usually pass this area while exiting the park. Here, they would purchase souvenirs, gadgets, and food. It adds to the magic of Disney!
Downtown Disney doesn’t have the same attractions as Disneyland Amusement Parks, such as cartoon characters greeting guests. However, the ambiance and vibes are great. They remind you that you’re in the happiest place on Earth! You can buy yourself a Mickey Mouse hat and any snack you can think of. From pretzel stands to sit-down restaurants, Downtown Disney has it all. We popped into a cute little restaurant called La Brea Bakery Café.
La Brea Bakery is popular for their specialty bread. They make artisan bread that is sold in stores like Whole Foods. La Brea Bakery Café serves more than just that. They have breakfast items, burgers, pizzas, desserts, and even cocktails. I got the cream cheese stuffed French toast with powdered sugar and fruit. My friend got a pepperoni and sausage pizza and a side of crispy potatoes. We couldn’t get enough of the potatoes! The food was scrumptious and a perfect pick-me-up to continue our day at Downtown Disney.
La Brea Café and other restaurants do a great job of capturing the vibe at Disney. Although we were not in Disneyland itself, sitting outdoor and listening to the laughter and excitement impacted us. You have to go to Downtown Disney to take in the happiness in the air!
