Goodbye CT 101!

The past Spring semester,  I was apart of this great class known as CT101. I learned so much from this class. Let’s have a quick recap!

First, we learned how to navigate throughout WordPress, and made my first blog post! Basically, we just wrote about what made us happy on the internet. It made me happy to write about things that were making me happy. I came to the realization that I really liked blogging.

The next thing we learned was how to make memes using Photoshop. I had never used Photoshop before enrolling in this class. It was really fun and Professor Ryan walked us through all the steps so it wasn’t as hard as I thought.

We also got the opportunity to choose assignments from the DS106 Assignment Bank. I chose the Places of Peace assignment. I chose that because I felt like it would make me happy. It also made realize all the great and wonderful places I’ve visited in NYC.

Another DS 106 Assignment also required us to use Photoshop to alter an image. Check out how I converted Captain America!

After that, we learned about how to do Panoramic photos. This was something I thought was super duper easy, but it is a process! I thought I could do it in like one minute but it took us forever to get the shot right. It just goes to show that practice makes perfect!

Next was my favorite, GIF Making! Professor Ryan taught us how to make our very own GIFS using Photoshop. It was soooooo cool!

Look how awesome!

Lastly was Vapor Wave! This one I had to learn on my own because I had missed class, but I got the hang of it. I used the following video to help create my own piece.

I was able to follow it for the most part, but I had some trouble creating the grid. Nonetheless, my creation still looked pretty cool if you ask me.

(I had to include the Volkswagen symbol to represent Bella the Buggy)

Let’s not forget the main aspect of the whole class: This website! If it wasn’t for Professor Ryan, Soulswirlwriting.com would not even be a thing! I have great ideas for this website, I can’t wait to see what the future holds. I plan on staying dedicated to this website and continue blogging. I also plan on creating social media accounts for it and really get this thing rolling!

Overall, for this class, I think I deserve an A+. I put in a lot of work for this website and I truly hope it shows. I know I missed a couple classes due to mental health issues, but  always made up for my absences through my hard work and dedication to this website. I completed every assignment we had to do as well as crafted 30+ blog posts. I also checked out other student’s websites and commented on them. I have been very proactive in this class, especially when it comes to this website. I love this website and I cannot wait to see how it grows and expands. Thank you so much Professor Ryan!
