I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! What better way to welcome the warm weather than with ice cream? This summer, take the opportunity to find some new spots like Ample Hills Creamery. A Brooklyn-based creamery, they now have several locations across NYC. You’ll want to dive into their creative flavors and rich history!
Ample Hills Creamery is known as the first NYC ice cream parlor to pasteurize fresh ingredients on-site. This would explain the barnyard theme and their pig, cow, and chicken mascots. Ample Hills prides themselves on fresh ingredients and mix-ins. They bake fresh goodies like brownie bites to fold into their creamy ice cream. They also celebrate local artists with Ample Hills Live. The shops host concerts, stand up comedy shows, and more after hours. What’s not to love?
I tried “the hook” during my first trip to Ample Hills Creamery. This flavor is an ode to NYC’s history with the Dutch. It is a burnt sugar base with fudge bites and Dutch stroopwafels. It satisfies all cravings of sweet, salty, and crunchy. Next time, I need to try “baked/ unbaked” and “summer love” which is a collaboration with Baked by Melissa.
Their cups have a Walt Whitman quote that says, “I too lived, Brooklyn of ample hills was mine.” Each detail of Ample Hills and their ice cream is neatly packaged in this one small quote. Definitely check out Ample Hills Creamery this summer. They will make your tummy happy! 🍦
